Clever

In all the cleverness I have come across since a certain friend introduced me to blogging almost 4 yrs ago, I have to totally brag about this one.  I mean for real people this is a project that my kiddos would LOVE and I don't even think I have to go any further than the basket of magazines that are piling up, the tape dispenser and the recycle bin (cardboard boxes)!!!  The possibilities are driving me crazy so I felt that if I blogged about it (1) I won't lose the link to the infinity amount of 'want to try' list in my favorites folder and (2) I can continue for a moment to dance in my excitement, because I can promise you if I run in the other room to tell hubby he will just look at me with no response and totally be a buzz kill.
Anyways... that's it, nightie night.

how this post got started...

History: Last week I scored for $2.99 a Pampered Chef Floral cupcake pan... normally because of how weird my hubby is about second hand stuff when you eat or cook from it I skip this area
in Goodwill for our own kitchen, but is my favorite place for Myla's... however, not one thing was wrong with it and there look to be no wear and tear, it looked brand new.

The hunt for a new recipe started last night.
I needed a cake that didn't really need to be frosted, so I turned to my favorite cookbook (my other eye candy favorites) and came across something that struck my fancy...
'Random Cake'.

I didn't use the raisins.  It turned out really good and have added it to my 'make a second time for sure list'.
Though I will say, I have never ever had a cake recipe tell me to add all the dry ingredients and then mush with a fork the butter and then mix in the eggs... ALWAYS I have blended the butter with sugar, eggs, and spices and then added the flour... anyhoo... do you know that it was the creamiest and fluffiest batter!!!

This book not only has really yummy and healthy recipes its also a lot of
fun to look at.  It was copywrited in 1971 by the La Leache League (hence the nursing picture above) and was given to my mother-in-law by a good friend of hers.

My  finished 'Random Cupcakes'

How could I have not gotten that pan?
I plan to do like a lemon sumpin' ruther and use a powdered sugar glaze on the flowers.  Cuteness.
Have you baked lately?

these were fun...

We've made them twice now they are so easy.  The marshmellows are already made.... duh?  So you melt chocolate, crush up graham crackers, poke marshmellows with tooth picks.
Roll marshmellow in melted chocolate, and then roll in the graham cracker crumbs.

YUM!

Kids are perfect helpers with this one... (easy people... EASY!) And there are many different toppings that you could use.  We were thinking crushed peppermint with the chocolate and marshmellow would be great for serving with hot cocoa this coming winter.

Diary of a Kitchen...

Well these lovely ingredients (cream cheese, peanut butter and powdered sugar)were blended into a no bake pie. Peanut Butter pie that is. I forgot to take an 'after' picture... so you'll just have to invision it, sprinkled on top with chopped roasted peanuts.
The next photo is of a little lady, probably the reason I forgot to take the picture of the pie...

She wanted evidence to show her brother that she could hold herself up without falling.

She's so funny. And did I mention proud of herself.
Hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend.
